Posted March 24, 2022

Bring the whole family for some after school explorations with the Wareham Land Trust this spring!

All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. These events are free, but registration is required. Please RSVP using the links below.

Wednesday, May 18th, 4:00-5:00pm: Nature Journaling at the Agawam River Trail. To RVSP click here.

Families will be introduced to nature journaling as an activity and will be guided through a series of fun and engaging activities to explore the natural world, build curiosity, and enhance observation skills. No previous experience or skills are necessary. The program will be designed for children in grades 3 – 5, but modifications will be offered for older children and adults. Bring a sketchpad, notebook, or some loose-leaf paper and a clip board, and something to write with (e.g., pencil, pen, crayons, colored pencils etc.). Dress in layers appropriate for the weather. Families may want to bring a blanket or portable sitting pad for something to sit on if the ground is wet.

Tuesday, May 24th, 4:00-5:00pm: Beach Exploration at North Water Street Beach. To RVSP click here.

Take a walk along the low tide beach at Wareham Land Trust’s North Water Street Beach property. Come explore the intertidal areas along the beach and fringing salt marsh and learn about the adaptations of our local plants and animals that make a home in this difficult, constantly changing habitat. Dress in layers appropriate for the weather and bring shoes that can get wet or muddy.

Thursday, June 9th, 4:00-5:00pm: “Buds and Bugs” Exploration at Douglas S. Westgate. To RVSP click here.

Come explore the fascinating world of buds and bugs with the Wareham Land Trust. Participants will be introduced to a variety of local wildflowers and common insects.
